एयर प्रेशर गेज कैसे चुनें।
Three things decide whether a gauge is the right one: the connection it screws into, the size of the dial you have to read, and the range printed on the face. Get those three right and the rest is preference.
1. कनेक्शन
A bottom connection gauge has its threaded stem coming out of the base of the case, pointing down, so the dial faces the person standing in front of it. That is the pattern used on compressor tanks, air receivers, regulator bodies and air line manifolds, and it is the pattern of every gauge we make.
The size is the thread on that stem, and it is the one measurement you cannot compromise on. We offer 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch bottom connections. Take the size from the fitting the gauge is going into - the port on the tank, the regulator or the manifold - rather than from the gauge being replaced, in case that one was adapted.
2. डायल साइज़
Dial diameter is about reading distance, not accuracy. A 2 inch dial is meant to be read at arm's length, with the gauge in your hand or directly in front of you. A 2.5 inch (63 mm) dial is the general workshop size and the one most compressor tanks take. A 4 inch dial is for a gauge that has to be read across a bay, from a machine, or by someone who is not standing over it.
A larger dial also spreads the same range over more face, so the divisions are further apart and a reading between two marks is easier to judge.

3. रेंज
Choose a range that puts your normal working pressure in the middle of the dial rather than at either end. A gauge spends its life most accurately read in the middle of its sweep, and a working pressure sitting hard against the top of the scale gives you no warning and nowhere to read.
In practice: car and light commercial tyre work sits comfortably on a 200 PSI dial. A workshop compressor running at typical shop pressure is well served by 300 PSI. The 500 PSI gauge exists for tanks and lines that run higher than that, and putting it on a low pressure job wastes most of the face.

Indian workshops read pressure in PSI, in kg/cm2 and occasionally in bar, and the placard on a vehicle rarely uses the unit printed on the gauge in your hand. Our 4 inch commercial gauge is printed with both lb/in2 and kg/cm2 on the same face for exactly that reason.

If what you actually need is to check a tyre rather than monitor a tank, the gauge belongs on a connector rather than screwed into a port. Our hose type and Maruti type connectors are a dial gauge already built onto a chuck, and the twin tyre connectors with a gauge on the head let the same tool fill and read without being taken off the valve.
