Retreading and tyre repair plants
Repair consumables and preparation tools bought by the box, for shops that repair casings all day.
What this work involves
A retreading or casing repair plant does not buy the way a workshop does. It buys one thing repeatedly, in quantity, and it cares about consistency between boxes far more than about what is on the shelf today.
That is the part of our business the company started in. The CT and BP patch ranges exist in the spread of numbers they do precisely because repair shops need a size for every injury, not a compromise size for most of them.

How they are used
The casing is inspected and the injury marked - a yellow chalk ring on the tread or sidewall is still the fastest way to make sure it is found again on the bench.
The injury is prepared and skived, then the inner liner around it is buffed back with a wire brush or a cutter wheel to a clean, evenly roughened surface. The dust is blown off with an air blow gun.
A patch of the right number and shape is laid in, aligned to the bead on a radial, and rolled down with a stitcher from the centre outwards so no air is trapped and no edge is left proud. Vulcanizing strips are used where a strip repair suits the injury better than a patch.
Who this is for
Retreading plants, dedicated casing repair shops, fleet workshops running their own repair line, and the rubber and tyre chemical distributors who supply them.
This is also the page for buyers comparing consumables on price per box across a year rather than per piece.
Choosing between them
Buy by number and shape together. In the CT series, CT No.33, 35, 37, 45, 55 and 82 are square patches and CT No.40, 42, 44, 46, 50, 52 and 56 are rectangular. A rectangular patch suits an injury that runs along the casing; a square one suits a round injury.
BP patches are boxed in tens with the size printed on the box face, which is what makes them findable on a busy rack.
We publish the numbers and shapes we make and not a millimetre dimension against each number. If you need exact dimensions before committing to a size across a year's consumption, ask us and we will measure them for you.
